I'll let you in on a secret: I really, really love robots. I would be extremely happy to be able to draw/design decent-looking mechs. Perhaps if I designed and drew a series of 12 mechs, I might become better at drawing them. Maybe.
So, yeah, here's the first in a series of mechs based on the signs of the zodiac. |
A sketch of my own living room. I've never been much cop at drawing interiors, but I was quite pleased with how this came out.
Console watch: See if you can spot the Xbox and Dreamcast. |
I need practice drawing vehicles. This is a quick design for a quad bike/buggy type contraption. I did the perspective on the wheels wrong, mind. |
Full colour image of Downus displaying a number of her weapons and tools. She is a creepy-looking but benign robot originally built for accompanying armies as combat and survival support. Downus is one of the supporting characters in a little comic series I'm working on. |

I'm working on a comic at the moment (yes, I actually AM working on it!), and I thought it might be an idea if I draw out model sheets for the characters.
The first of the finished sets of design sheets shows Downus, the obligatory robot character.
She's an android that identifies herself as an Peluda SAK combat/utility robot. The SAK stands for ‘Swiss Army Knife' and is a reference to the large number of tools and weapons equipped in the robot's arms. She most commonly uses several blades of various lengths to fight with, but other tools include drills, knives, a mace and a grappling hook.
She often says and does peculiar or childlike things, but she is actually very intelligent and competant. Though she has a frightening appearence and fights in a ferocious manner when the need arises, she is gentle and tolerant. She loves receiving praise. It takes a lot to distress or upset her. She is rather out of touch with reality, and rarely grasps the full gravity of a situation.
The third part of Downus's model sheet, shows how her arms are drawn and how her weapons system works. |

This is a quick design for a robot character for a comic. He's in his early stages (good god am I poor at drawing robots), and I've already got some ideas on how to improve his look for his final version. |
I drew a squirrel.
This scanned very poorly (probably because I drew it on shiny marker paper, for some reason), but it's not too bad, all things considered. It's been a while since I've done traditional art of this type, so I want to get back into it. As well as drawing robots and cartoony stuff, obviously... |
My first ever work with markers, and it came out quite well considering I had limited colours available. The character is Ravi, a dragon of Indian origin. I went for an asian/oriental-type influence when designing this chap.
Thanks to all the people who helped me with the arms for this beast. I'm still not totally happy with them, but I think that's just me being picky. |
This... is a painting I did AGES ago for my art GCSE. I recently found it and thought I'd upload it just for the sake of having something a bit different in my gallery.
Yeah, it's pretty poor! The background objects look absolutely horrible, mainly because it was a timed piece and I wanted to spend my time on the glass details instead. The lines look very wonky too. However, certain parts don't look so bad, I don't think, such as glass egg at the front and parts of the jug. Anyway, it would help if I hadn't been forced to use the cheap poster paints supplied by the school... |
Just a quickie here. A young swordsman who is kind of inspired by Wonder Boy. At least, he ended up looking similar. |
This image was created specially for the bar across the top of the website. It's an old character I created, Chemical Dust... I've decided she makes a good mascot for my site. |
A vampire woman poses menacingly in a cavernous region.
I was going for a faux-animation look with the simple digitally painted background and cel-shaded character. I quite like the way it came out, I'm going to do more stuff like this. |
This is an old Sonic the Hedgehog character I designed. I just got thinking recently about what her role could be, so I redesigned her a bit.
Her name's Tempo, and she's a skunk. I think she'd be a bad guy, not exactly evil but someone who reasonably believes that Robotnik is a good candidate for world leader! She's just a sub-lackey really, and Robotnik took her on board probably mostly out of pity and maybe because her support flattered him. She's rather eloquent, articulate and intellectual, but she lacks any techical skills. She loves music (hence the name) and is more the creative type, and as such she is hopeless at anything practical! She does loose her temper quite easily at times, but she has common sense and isn't afraid to swallow her pride.
She smells like a bed of roses. She never smells bad, that's a racist stereotype. |
Oldish picture, but I felt like colouring. Move along folks.
Warning: Some people may find this picture offensive (slightly sexually suggestive) |
This is Chemical Dust. I draw this character different pretty much every time. She's the megalomaniacal ruler of Dust City. |
Many moons ago, my friend at school had a very plain red folder. I didn't like it, so I started drawing these funny little Blair Witches on the front in biro. For some reason. I thought it was pretty neat, so I tried recreating it on the mighty Photoshop! I cannot remember most of the symbols I did then, but this was fun to make nonetheless.

An adventurer fox woman, checking out some ruins in a desert. She looks cautious...
I sold the original of this piece to a gentleman on FurBid. |
A rabbit with extremely large ears. She looks deeply annoyed with someone. |
A new pic of an old character. I redesigned her slightly, but this is Chemical Dust, the short-tempered control freak raver! She's looking all dynamic, like. |
Another pic of Dr. Corrupt... this time out 'n about doing something, yo. Not sure what's she's doing, but you can bet it's all dynamic and evil, like. |
A stylised 'furry' version of my brother's pet hamster, Zed. Or Zedwin Quinn Jackington, as her real name is. Drawn in a different style to my usual furries, but I like this style. |
A strong and bold-looking woman warrior riding some sort of lion-like monster. Swift, beauftiful, unstoppable... |
A bit of 'concept art', I guess, for a short story comic I'm drawing up at the moment. It's a kind of sarcastic humour story about a massive advanced mega battle robot and a little lab rabbit who escape from a military research centre. I'm awful at drawing robots, but I think this guy came out all right. Ish. |
The doctor will see you now... |
Excel is one of the main characters from the Villain game concept I was working with. He's cryptic, baby. It's kind of hard to tell whether he has any ultimate goals or ambitions, whether he enjoys hurting people, or whether he just doesn't care about anyone. Well, I won't go into it. |

One of the bosses in my villain game. The Vertigo is a massive thrill ride with a self-contained computer 'mind' of its own. The machine was built as a super-rollercoaster which had the power to change its structure spontaneously, so to offer punters a revolutionarily mind-blowing experience! However, it turns out the machine thinks too much like a thrill ride really would, as it thrived on people's fear and adrenaline, and got a sadistic pleasure out of terrifying and terrorising people. It (apparently) killed its lead designer and the owner of the park and took over the whole place for itself. Vertigo has a horribly slimy personality and always wears a manic, twisted grin. He doesn't really care too much about power and has no reason to actually hurt or kill anyone, he just lives for the excitement and pleasure he gets from frightening them. It is a machine though, and as such it has no real regard or care for human life. He has kept all of his sophisticated morphing abilities from when he was a humble roller coaster ride, and has managed to give himself a fairly human appearance. Despite his amazing structure-changing powers, it's actually kind of weak, since it is made up of thousands of complicated and intricate pieces of circuitry and mechanics, and may start to malfuction when even a small number are destroyed or damaged. In that aspect, Vertigo kind of has a glass jaw, but any lasting damage would be fixed by its self-repair functions.
This is the finished coloured version of a black and white image I uploaded previously-- this time with background and all! It took me ages to do, but I'm not entirely happy with the way it turned out. I don't want to make excuses, but it's extremely hard to edit large images with this crummy computer. It was taking about a minute for a fill to process, bah. Oh, and sorry about the massive image descriptions, I get into it too easily... |
I was reading through some RPG book with a list of all the beasts in the game, and started thinking about mythical creatures and stuff. So, here's my hydra! It only has six heads instead of the usual nine though, because it'd be too difficult to draw ALL of them. This was actually done in acrylic paint, because I got sick of doing computer colouring and wanted to try something different. Trouble is, my scanner is a bit pants, and it had made a complete mess of this one. Oh well. |
Roight then, one of my mates had this idea for a website, and thought it would be cool if we all had fox characters for it. Here's my attempt at making a fox based on me; IndieFox! I might have to do it again, though. For a start, she doesn't even look like a fox! Oh well, her shoes are kind of neat-looking. They're the SOAP shoes that I won from Sega Europe, yay. Oh, extra thanks go to KT Coope for coming up with the name IndieFox. |
There's no real point to this picture... it's just a woman looking sad about something. I got bored of drawing my characters and Sonic fanart, so I just did something quick and meaningless. Wowee.
She has pretty hair. |
Another character from my villain game thingy. This is Lithe Calibur, the little sister of Excel Calibur (one of the main characters). Whereas Excel has the ears and tail of a raccoon, Lithe has sparrow's wings. I only planned a tiny bit for her in the story of the game, but I wanted to draw her anyway. Oh, and she doesn't fly with those tiny little wings either. She uses a jetpack like everybody else. |
Three colourful limbless squirrels. This was partly inspired by the Dreamcast/arcade game Samba de Amigo. This was actually drawn ages ago, but I recently found it and inked the blighter for no particular reason. I'd like to do another, maybe with Indian or Chinese musical instruments and colours instead. |
Ah… a character who has been occupying my mind for a while! Her name is Chemical Dust, a weird name… but then all my characters have weird names. The name is obviously a reference to the Chemical Brothers/Dust Brothers (the reference is possibly too obvious, but I like the name, so it stays). |
Sanyorken AKA The White Scorpion! Cute, huh? He's one of Haste's enemies, a bitter and defeated criminal who teams up with another bad guy. |
Just a pic of an android blokey. Black and white. I tried actually properly inking this picture, and I think it came out better than usual. Looks a lot better on paper than it does scanned, though. |
A half wolf half human woman and a cute little lizard dressed in oriental attire! This is very old, but I'm still quite fond of it. |
