This was for another contest on the DeviantArt
Sonic Club. Sonic and Tails, many years after the events of Sonic 2, return
to the Chemical Plant Zone. The chemicals have been washed away by the
rainwater and life is starting to grow in the area again.
This is one of my first attempts at digital painting. It's very sloppy,
unfortunately.

A
quick drawing of Alita from the incredible Battle
Angel Alita comics.

FOR
MEGADRIVERS CUSTOM
The main character from Alien Soldier, an excellent Megadrive
game by Treasure. My second attempt at using markers... quite quickly done,
but I'm fairly pleased with it. I need to practice the whole blending thang, though. I also noticed that the drawing on the
box doesn't look much like the character in the game!

I've
been practicing drawing mechanical thingies lately, so I had another quick
go at recreating my pal HK-47 (from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic,
copyright LucasArts/Bioware
blah blah blah). I used tonesheets
to shade this, and like all work done with tonesheets,
it looks good on paper but absolutely ghastly when scanned. Bah.
I'm quite pleased with the drawing here at least, even if the legs look a bit
squiffy. The perspective is a bit better than
usual.
|
|

|
It's
HK-47: the vicious, homicidal, 'lippy' yet polite, articulate and
incredibly endearing assassin protocol droid from Star Wars: Knights of the
Old Republic! HK is not only my favourite KOTOR character, but one of my
favourite games characters ever. What can I say, I just have a thing for
robots....
Despite the crippling limitations of my meatbag
extremities coupled with the distraction of all the water sloshing around
inside my fleshy coating, I believe I have succeeded in recreating HK-47's
fine form to a satisfactory degree.
HK-47 is copyright Bioware/LucasArts.

An
original Sonic the Hedgehog boss design of sorts. The massive tail is
covered in electrically charged discs. It's the kind of boss that you just
have to dodge until it kills itself in some stupid way, hence the lack of a
'weak spot'.
|
|

|
A collaboration with CPC! He
did the lineart, I did the colouring and the background. Sorry to sound
corny, but it really was an honour to work with such a fantastic artist!
|
|

|
Erm, yeah. A female version of Dr. Robotnik. This particular
picture was a request from a few people at SCARZ
. Yeah, blame them...
|
|

|
This
is the Flight Formation of 'Team' Robotnik! In
this form, he has giant 'wings' with jet boosters beneath, allowing him to
fly briefly. He can also throw the spikeballs off
his shoulders to perform the Thunder Shoot.
|
|

|
This
is the Speed Form of 'Team' Robotnik! In this
form, the jets are located on his back, and give him a massive speed boost
when needed. He can also anchor himself into walls using the spikeballs on his elbows for the 'triangle jump'.
|
|

|
This
is the Power Form of 'Team' Robotnik! In this
form, the jets are on his arms, so that he can perform solid punches with
the spiked balls on his hands. He can also do the 'fire dunk', in which the
spiked balls are shot downwards as fireballs. When falling, a parachute can
be ejected from the machinary on his back to peform his own version of the 'triangle dive'.
|
|

|
Inspired by the 'Team' gameplay of Sonic Heroes, meet 'Team' Robotnik! Teamwork is all very well, but what about the
loners and billy-no-mateses
of the world? So, instead of having to find two irritating squeaky-voiced furballs to form a team with, the wonderful Dr. Eggman has built a
morphing robot suit that mimicks the actions of
different team formations by taking on different forms.
This was for the Sonic Heroes contest that was run by sonic-club on DeviantArt.
My entry didn't exactly fit in with the rules of the contest, but it got
accepted no problem, and I came 2nd out of some 90-odd entries. Hurrah!

Billy
Hatchet and the Giant Axe. It's the brand new GameCube game! I should work
for Sonic Team.
I'm punning for England in the 2004 Comedy Olympics.

This
is, of course, Reala from NiGHTS
as Felicia from the DarkStalkers games. I
sketched him from memory, so the head is far too small. Do notice that the
ass, on the other hand, is perfectly well crafted. All fanart
must do Reala's fine ass justice.

Because
I've been sad recently, and Shadow is always kind of sad...

An
entry for the Christmas Contest on the DA Sonic Club! I placed 4th.
Sonic and Tails cover a sleeping Eggman in christmas tree decorations. Yeah.
I coloured this using a SUPER NEO EXPERIMENTAL COLOURING STYLE, but I think
it came out alright really!

Wow,
BAD SCAN.
This was done for the Worms 3D competition on Gameplay, and I won in
the 21+ category. Yay! I won a... 'superb
selection of Sega goodies', which turned out to be a neat Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution t-shirt, a copy of King of
Route 66 and one of Virtua Fighter: Special
Edition for the PS2 and a Sega pen. The comment they gave my pic was
wicked: "An amazingly drawn, inspired picture capturing the humour and
essence of the game perfectly. Excellent work Jessica." I'm chuffed!

Bless.
Cream is led through a field; maybe it's time for dinner, or maybe she has
to get off to bed before Mr. Dr.
Robotnik AKA new daddy comes to visit.
I inked this in Illustrator-- how about that! I ain't
ever inked on computer before!

An
original homage to my favourite RPG series of all time: Shining Force.
The characters and art and stuff are by me, but the background is official
Sega artwork for SF3.
|
|

|
This
scanned rather (incredibly) poorly, but it's a nice little picture of a
selection of Sonic characters, coloured in some lovely fineline
pens.
|
|

|
A
request: Specter from the game Ape Escape.
|
|

|
Characters
from the anime series Excel Saga: Excel and her pet/dinner Menchi. My friend Kelsk said
he was gonna colour this 'un, but I was bored so
I did it too! Quite pleased with the colouring job here too.

For
the contest on the LiveJournal Sonic The Hedgehog
community... it's Dr. Robotnik
in the costume of Jill Valentine from Resident Evil! More masterful at
unlocking than Jill, better at performing vanishing acts than Barry, more blantantly dodgy than Wesker
and better at acting than... well, anyone is better at acting than the RE
crew, come to think of it... it's RESIDENT IVO!
I love bad puns.
|
|

|
Woah! It's Rouge the Bat (from Sonic the Hedgehog) dressed
as Sparkster (from 'Rocket Knight Adventures' and
'Sparkster')! I drew this for my boyfriend when I
visited him, and he kindly scanned it for me so I could colour her.
Rouge is great. Love her.
|
|

|
I
must've used this pose a million times. Ah well. It's Dr.
Robotnik AKA Dr. Eggman dressed in somewhat casual clothes holding a
massive cannon gun thing.
|
|

|
I got sick of drawing commissions, so I let off steam by doodling the superb martial arts vegetable from Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy.
It's a quick, simple drawing, but I decided to colour it because it was
funny.
I showed this to Rodney Greenblat (the creator
of PtR and UJL), and he really liked it! He was
even kind enough to go through my gallery and compliment my art, saying it
was very professional. What a nice man!
|
|

|
A
quick drawing of Choy, the cute and cowardly beaver (I think?) from Sonic
the Comic! I think he looked cool, but difficult to draw, so I gave it a
shot.
I think he ruled. Pity he wasn't in the comic much.

This
is probably the weirdest piece of Sonic fanart
I've ever done (which is really saying something considering I've drawn Eggman laid out in a sexy pose in his pants), it's Sonic in the style of the Dreamcast game 'Rez'. I love Rez, and needed
to utilize my obsession with the game somehow, but it's not really
something you can use for fanart or fanfiction. However, this combined with the perpetual
desire to draw more Sonic fanart led me to creat this bizarre piece, brought to you by countless
cheap Photoshop effects!
It was fun drawing the wireframe model. It's interesting to picture how
something would look transparent in 3D space like that. Ahem...
I also sent this to Sega.com for their fanart
section. And they put it up! There used to be a general Sega fanart section on sega.com, but it was taken down.
However, my picture is still to be found in the fanart
section of the official Sonic site.

I've
recently rediscovered Phantasy Star Online. Version 2 is really neat, and
thankfully it seems most of the cheats that plagued the servers have
finally got bored and left us hardcore gamers
alone. Hurrah!
This is the Savage Wolf from the forests of Ragol
drawn as a Sonic the Hedgehog character. I used the same background as the
one for the PSO commission I did for Purrple-Kat.
Because I'm lazy. Anyway, the cute wolfie was the
focus of this picture. Isn't he lovely?
|
|

|
Why,
it's a modern version of the classic Sega game antiheroes, Mobo and Robo the Bonanza
Brothers. I planned on making a big fancy background for this and actually
putting a bit of effort into it, but I've changed my mind somewhat. The
colouring of this picture is too ghastly to warrant such attention.
|
|

|
It's
Nack the Weasel! Or Fang, if you like, but I have
to admit I prefer the name 'Nack'. It's a bit
more original, for a start.
I'm actually quite pleased with how this came out. I'm surprised I
haven't drawn Nack before; I like his design! I
drew his shoes (and gloves, I think) wrong, though. Oh well. Oh, and Nackiepoos is from Sonic the Hedgehog, in case you're
not a fan or something.
|
|

|
My
first ever piece of anime fan art. Well, unless you count games.
Not much to say, it's Lina with her costume
all wrong and a made-up sword because I couldn't be bothered to get any
reference. I'm not sure whether I like this or not... probably not.
|
|

|
It's
Lead Phoenix from the Sega Saturn game Burning Rangers! Rubbish picture,
but I thought I'd upload it anyway... because it's LEAD! He's so sexy and
cool. Well, he is in the game anyway, not in this stupid picture. I drew
his eye too large and his neck too long, bah.
|
|

|
A
quick litte greyscale
picture of Chaos from Sonic Adventure. But, look... he's a lady! I had a
stupid idea for a manga, and it involved a female Chaos. I think she looks kinda neat, heh heh.
|
|

|
MeOW! The very cool Rouge the bat in an orange cat costume.
This was just a quick little picture I did for fun-- nothing special. It
was originally going to be a tiger outfit, but stripes are too hard to do!
Anyway, it looked better with spots. I got the idea for this after seeing
an excellent figure of Fei-Yen from Virtual On
with a tiger print on her armour and a long tail. I shall have that figure
one day, oh yes.
|
|

|
This
image is a sort of teaser for a manga adaptation of the novel 'Sonic the
Hedgehog and the Silicon Warriors' that I'm doing. I don't think I'll even
get anywhere near finishing the manga, but I made this picture all the
same.
|
|

|
A
poster type thing of Eggman looking pretty
heroic! He's so cool. Although the position of Eggy
in this picture came out horribly wrong, I still like the colouring and
layout. He's supposed to be smiling, by the way. ArGh.
|
|

|
I
enjoyed drawing little Eggman as a kiddy so much before I decided to do it again. This
time, he's walking to school with his friend (Sara from Sonic the Movie)! I
almost gave up on this halfway through the colouring, because it looked MUCH
better on paper than it did scanned. I'm glad I did finish it, though,
because it's quite nice in a sickeningly cute way. In case you didn't know,
the symbol on his lunchbox is the 'Lion Quality' logo that they stamp on
eggs approved by the British
Egg Information Service .
